When an information specialist starts his daily journey in the world wide web data paths, he (should) plan his moves, tactical approach – where to start, how to proceed, and not less important – where/when to stop.

This snapshot of work flow may shed some light on our work, gathering that data, filtering and sorting it, and presenting it in a way that will give the customer set of answers to his question(s) with an added-value analysis.

As an information specialist I review megabytes of information, each day, dumping what I see as irrelevant, saving what I find important enough to look into later, and analyzing what I find as a potential direct answer to a question that initiated my current task.

But sometimes it is not related to my work at all. Just a plain curiosity.
