Our story begins when Dorit and Boaz met for the first time. The year was 1970, she was 18 and he was 20 years old. One year later, in 1971, Boaz designed for Dorit a Rose Gold pendant "Libra Marrying Capricorn" as an engagement gift – which turned out to be the first Ramot jewelry creation.
In 1972 the young couple married and in 1974 they moved to Firenze, Italy, to pursue their art studies. BD_113

In Firenze, Dorit registered at the "Accademia Di Porta Romana" for practical arts, design and goldsmithing. She also began studies in gold crafting and design at the studio of the master Japanese artist and goldsmith, Fuji.

Boaz started his training at the Firenze "Accademia Di Belle Arte" for fine arts, drawing, oil painting, etching, anatomy and sculpture. At the same time he began an apprenticeship at the Gideon Graez Studio in Castello Di Vincigliata, Fiesole, for sculpture and bronze casting.

The Graetz family, owners of “Castello Di Vincigliata”, supported Dorit and Boaz’ art studies by hosting them in the castle from their first day in Firenze, a period of three years (1974 - 1977). Y_CASTELO 312





In 1977, after completion of their art studies, the Ramots moved back from Firenze to their birthplace in Israel and set up their first gold crafting studio.

2. Milestones

1980 – The techniques, aesthetics and spirit of the period in Firenze were adapted to create the studio in Haifa which eventually became today's Ramot production center.

1986 - Launch of the Ocean line – a sporty, daywear collection made of Gold cables combined with plain and diamond mounted motifs. ocean ring

1988 – Unveiling of Mesopotamia. This masterfully crafted line of high relief fine gold segments combined with 750 yellow gold, is inspired by this antique culture. ring03TM_clean 302

1989 - Invention of Diamonds In Invisible Setting.
At the international Basel show of 1989 Ramot unveils its iconic range of invisibly set diamond jewelry to great acclaim. This unique system of invisible mounting became, from that day and on, the pinnacle of virtuosic diamond setting for the finest brands worldwide. _MG_0707

1995 - Creation of an important sapphire and diamond set of jewels, commissioned by a famous Arab king for his daughter's royal wedding.

1997 - The opening of the legendary Ramot shop in Haifa.

2001 – Ramot shop opens in London at 202 Sloane Street, Chelsea. The shop was designed and built by the Italian architect Davide Ruzzenente.

3. Invisible Setting of Diamonds

For generations, the invisible setting technique, which shows no trace of metal holding the gemstones, has been used with precious gems such as Rubies and Sapphires.

Diamonds, the hardest and noblest of earth's treasures, always remained a challenge to those who desired to use them in invisible settings. Years of intensive research by the Ramot team gave birth to the first ever collection high precision, invisibly set, calibrated diamond jewelry of rare beauty and perfection. 4. Special Projects and Customers

1989 - The Piaget "Syrius" diamond watch. _MG_1191
The first watch and bracelet set all around with diamonds in invisible settings.
The Syrius watch project was completed and launched by the Piaget swiss group as the company flagship piece in the early 1990s. _MG_0699

1990 -1992 - "Kalla" line of diamond watches for Vacheron Constantin of Genève.

1994 – Starting the widespread manufacturing collaboration of complicated invisible setting diamond timepieces for the Swiss brand Chopard.

1997 - 1999 - Special calibrated diamond watch cases for Frank Muller, Genève.







2002 – 2003 - The masterpiece creation of timepieces for Bulgari.
Three months of designing and six months of craftsmanship were needed for the Ramot craftsmen to complete one of the most prestigious diamond timepieces ever created, for the Italian brand Bulgari. _MG_0999

Riviere
Riviere is a line of jewelry featuring precision rows of perfectly calibrated rectangular diamonds or precious gemstones. Riviere pieces are known for the smooth movement of their flexible bracelets and necklaces.

The most unusual piece ever created in this line is a flexible bracelet which contains 60 specially cut baguette-shaped diamonds, each one weighing over half a carat. The core motif of this line is its unique mini seconds dial set with 12 trapeze shaped diamonds, each one indicating 5 second. RA-10
The"220" is named after the first of two "Friendly Numbers" 220 and 284. "284" – the second of these two "Friendly Numbers" is the name planned for the new Gent's timepieces line.
