1. Different application environment

Industrial 4g routers usually have VPN/APN functions and private network encryption. In addition, industrial wireless routers with WIFI function are suitable for outdoor WIFI wireless signal coverage projects.

The transmission distance of 4g DTU application in the field terminal is relatively scattered, and the data communication rate is relatively high, so the real-time performance of 4g DTU can satisfy most industrial fields, and it is usually used as a data acquisition and monitoring system. Such as charging pile remote monitoring system, environmental monitoring system, real-time energy consumption monitoring, dam water conservancy project monitoring application, etc.

2. The difference in usage:

Industrial 4g router: It can convert Ethernet and fieldbus communication protocols, and only need to set the IP address designated by the wireless router as a gateway in the terminal device. If the designated IP address (or designated IP address segment) is not set, the communication function cannot be realized.

4g DTU: The main purpose is to implement dial-up, not a gateway in the true sense. For example, after the 4g DTU is connected to the terminal device to complete the dial-up link, the 4g DTU can be used as a new network device, and the terminal device address can use this 4g DTU binding address.

3. The anti-interference of the server network is different:

Industrial 4g router: meet the pre-set regulations during data transmission, otherwise it will not be able to communicate correctly, reducing the possibility of network traffic; at the same time, it can be processed according to key processing such as the serial number sent to ensure that server data will not be replayed or replayed. send.

4g DTU: There is no relevant filtering during data transmission, so other machines can directly send some illegal information to the device terminal through the network. At the same time, 4g DTU increases network traffic; at the same time, the data is not processed accordingly, which may lead to 4g The rebroadcast or retransmission of the router's wireless data will cause an abnormality in the system, which may cause hidden dangers.

4. Different network interfaces:

Industrial 4g router: provides a variety of network interfaces, the WAN port can be converted into a LAN port, and I have heard of the wireless network Internet access function.

4g DTU: Generally, only serial port input is provided for wireless networking, but no network interface is provided.
