Senior Polyglot Developer - preferring functional languages
I am a skilled, energetic, and creative polyglot software developer. My experience covers work on a wide range of full stack projects, though my interests lean towards back end work. I have become quite passionate about code quality and programming methodologies (focused lately on functional programming). Always excited to discuss and explore new technologies and ways of thinking about code. I want to solve interesting problems, write elegant/performant code, and make a real difference. I believe in creating and continuously improving a culture that facilitates inspiration, trust, teamwork, productivity, and quality. Also regular presenter at local meet-ups.
The main technical topics that interest and really excite me are:
#1 software and systems architecture (what are the pieces and how to they fit together)
#2 data analysis and transformation
#3 finding ways to accomplish #2 as efficiently (fast) as possible
#4 modern concurrency and distributed computing tools and methods
#5 functional programming in general (currently focused on Scala and Haskell, but open to others)
#6 agile philosophy and how to create long term high performance teams
#7 leadership theory - been reading lots of Simon Sinek and Daniel Pink
