***PostgreSQL DBA - for 2 days a week (8 hours each) for 6 months period***
Responsibilities:
-Proactively monitoring database performance and troubleshooting issues.
-Working with the engineers to optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones.
-Receive new requirements and work together with the engineers on the best solution.
-Creating and maintaining change control and testing processes, reviewing and approving database modifications.
-Reviewing development and deployment processes related to databases and identifying areas of improvement (such as online schema changes).
-Adhere to the cloud native and microservices best practices.
-Work with operations team understanding defects and anomalies in production.
Requirements:
-Strong PostgreSQL DBA experienced in a 24x7 production environment, system metrics and optimization strategies.
-Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills.
-Experience architecting a large-scale production database platform
-Understanding of virtualization and clustered environments
